With so much to watch on TV, it can be difficult to plan ahead. But we’re here to help! Here are the five shows you won’t want to miss this week.

The Expanse: Monday, Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. on Syfy

Syfy proves that it’s back in the space-opera game with this ambitious adaptation of the Hugo Award-winning series of novels by James S.A. Corey (a.k.a. Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). Come for the spaceships, stay for the Blade Runner-esque future noir.

Fargo: Monday, Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. on FX

The legendary “Sioux Falls Massacre” absolutely slayed us last week, so we can only imagine what terrestrial (and extraterrestrial) wonders await in Fargo’s second season finale.

Nashville: On the Record: Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 10 p.m. on ABC
In its third edition, the annual behind-the-scenes of Nashville special hits the road with Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack, Aubrey Peeples and Lennon and Maisy Stella, following them from gig to gig — and confessional to confessional.

The Soup: Friday, Dec. 18 at 10 p.m. on E!

First Jon Stewart and now Joel McHale; after 11 years skewering the week in pop culture, The Soup host hangs up his three-piece suit and mile-wide sarcastic streak. C’mon Twitter — let’s get #12SeasonsAndaMovie trending.

Homeland: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. on Showtime

Season 5 is officially in the record books for Carrie Matheson, as Homeland closes out another solid post-Brody year. Stay tuned for the sophomore season finale of The Affair, Showtime’s other fall prestige drama.
