Youngest ‘Voice’ Contestant Ever Channels Michael Jackson

The age limit was lowered from 15 to 13 on The Voice this season, and little Quizz Swanigan took full advantage. The 13-year-old singer from North Little Rock, Ark., performed “Who’s Lovin’ You” by Michael Jackson at his school when he was only 6. He then traveled around the country, performing with a Michael Jackson tribute show.

Quizz took his “Smooth Criminal” dance moves to the Voice stage Thursday night and performed “Who’s Lovin’ You,” the song that started it all for him. It took Quizz almost his entire performance before any coaches turned their chairs, but at the very end, both Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani hit their red buttons, presenting Quizz with a difficult decision. At first, it appeared Gwen had the edge when Quizz admitted, “You taught me how to spell bananas.” But Quizz dropped his spelling teacher and ultimately chose Alicia, who was superexcited to have him on her team. Alicia said, “Quizz is my little Michael Jackson star. He has raw talent, so now I think it’s about really taking him to the next place. And I have a feeling it’s gonna be kind of crazy.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
