NBA YoungBoy Arrested on Kidnapping Warrant

The 19-year-old rapper was charged as a fugitive in Tallahassee, Florida

YoungBoy Never Broke Again (born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden) has been arrested in Tallahassee, Florida for an outstanding felony warrant, TMZ reports and Leon County Sheriff's Office records confirm. The 19-year-old rapper, also known as NBA YoungBoy, was found as a fugitive from Waycross, Georgia—where he is charged with allegedly committing assault, weapons violations, and kidnapping. NBA YoungBoy was scheduled to perform a sold-out show at Tallahassee’s Moon nightclub on Saturday night, but the performance was cancelled. “Our understanding is he was arrested by the US Marshall's on an outstanding warrant from Georgia, at approximately 1am,” a representative for the Moon said in a statement. “He was heading over to The Moon for his scheduled 1:30am performance.” Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for NBA YoungBoy for further comment.

In August 2017, NBA YoungBoy was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. He was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder over his involvement with a drive-by shooting that took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 2, 2016. Judge Bonnie Jackson suspended his sentence and placed him on active supervised probation for three years. His latest arrest in Florida could potentially be a violation of his probation, as Baton Rouge’s WAFB points out.
