Young Thug Names T.I., Kevin Liles, Ex-Girlfriend Jerricka In Extensive Witness List

Young Thug has named a few notable Hip-Hop figures that he’d like to see take the stand in his ongoing YSL RICO Case. According to AllHipHop, the rapper has thought of his musical peers that could possibly speak to his professional music career.

Southern rappers T.I., Trae Tha Truth and Killer Mike have been included in the list, as well as his ex-girlfriend Jerricka, 300 Ent. CEO Kevin Liles, Global Head of Music for YouTube, Lyor Cohen, Atlantic Record’s Julie Greenwald, and more.

The YSL case has made headlines since May 2022, when Thug, Gunna and other members of the music label were arrested on the charges conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participation in criminal street gang activity.

As Gunna was released in December 2022, the “Slat” rapper has remained behind bars, maintaining his innocence. Prosecution has continued to accuse Thug, né Jeffrey Williams, of being the co-founder and leader of the Young Slime Life gang and being behind a number of violent acts in Atlanta. However, the 32-year-old’s defense continues to fight to prove that YSL stands for Young Stoner Life records and nothing more.

Thug has not received an official date to resume trial due to a jury selection process that has prolonged for over six months. Reportedly, the nature of the high-profile case has made it challenging to find the “right” jury that will be unbiased. Throughout the YSL RICO case, complications have occurred on the legal representation side, as well as on the defendants’. A few YSL members have found themselves with new charges, as attorneys have also dropped out of the case.

In April, Angela D’Williams, an attorney for YSL‘s Rodalius Ryan, submitted a motion asking to be withdrawn from the case because of her profit being “egregiously low for the amount of work and attention this trial requires.” Attorneys Justin Hill and Suri Chadha Jimenez, who also represented YSL defendants, expressed similar sentiments.

“For at least a year’s worth of full-time work, that’s essentially less than minimum wage…to be honest, I could make more money working at Chick-fil-A as a cashier,” Hill told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the time.

The trial also saw YSL Polo (Cordarius Dorsey) facing separate murder charges, of which he was convicted and is now serving a life sentence for participating in a 2019 killing. He has been denied parole. Law & Crime Network reported in August that Dorsey was accused of killing a man named Xavier Arlandor Turner in January 2020.
