That's a wrap for Young Sheldon. The Big Bang Theory spinoff, which is in the home stretch of its seventh and final season, has completed filming. To mark the occasion, star Iain Armitage (Sheldon himself), shared a sweet throwback. "This is 8 yr old me getting ready to film the very first scene I did as Young Sheldon," he captioned the photo on Instagram.

He went on to say that costar Melissa Peterman, who played Brenda Sparks on the show, recently asked him what he might go back and tell his younger self if he could. "Maybe I wouldn’t tell him anything and I would just let life unfold as it does, but I think he’d be so surprised and happy to see where we are now. I sure am," the now 15-year-old actor wrote. "I don’t think this kid could have anticipated what it would feel like to film our final scene all these years later." He then thanked the cast and crew and ended with an enthusiastic "I love you all so much!"

His TV sister, played by Raegan Revord, had her own tearjerker moment on social media, sharing an Instagram story of her and Annie Potts (Meemaw) embracing. “My emotional state at the moment," she wrote.

Adding to the tributes, director Alex Reid shared a poignant shot of the Cooper family dinner table sitting empty and quiet.

"Today was a wrap on the final season of Young Sheldon. I can’t express how much my time on this show has meant to me," he wrote. "To watch these actors evolve through the years felt like watching my own family grow and change ... This is from this afternoon, before we shot our last scene."

The series finale of Young Sheldon, which will see Big Bang Theory stars Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik reprise their roles, airs May 16, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
