Young Sheldon Georgie and Mandy Spin-off Gets Official Title

With Young Sheldon drawing to a close, a spin-off centered on Georgie and Mandy was officially ordered by CBS earlier this year. Now, the spin-off — which the network has recently confirmed to be releasing this Fall — will be called Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage.

Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, which will focus on the couple’s married life in Texas, will be played by Young Sheldon stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment. The spin-off will air on the same Young Sheldon timeslot, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET. However, the exact premiere date has yet to be announced. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland will executive produce.

What to expect from Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage?

After the couple tied the knot in Young Sheldon Season 7’s previous episode, the stars shared in an interview with TVLine that the upcoming spin-off will feature more of Mandy’s family.

“I would love that. I was telling Emily that I had a little thought about a storyline for meemaw because we haven’t said anything about her grandma. There might be stuff about her in the new show,” said Jordan.

Osment added, “You’ll get to meet more of Mandy’s family. She has a brother that we don’t spend any time with. We don’t know where he is. I think there’s an opportunity for more McAllisters to make themselves be known.”

With the spin-off’s title, fans are — of course — already speculating that the next series will follow up on The Big Bang Theory’s series finale, wherein the adult Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) received congratulatory text messages from two of Georgie’s ex-wives, strengthening the theory that the couple will eventually file for divorce as the series progresses.

However, given the title, Georgie and Mandy may find a way to patch things up and get remarried. All the theories aside, little is still known about the upcoming spin-off.

Young Sheldon Season 7 finale airs on CBS on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
