The ABC show “What Would You Do?” just gained a new celebrity guest correspondent, and it’s a Newton native.

The View” star Sara Haines is joining host John Quiñones and fellow television host and guest correspondent W. Kamau Bell for the upcoming season.

The long-running hidden camera show captures how people react — or don’t react — to various situations spanning harassment to illegal actions set up by the show.

“I’ve been a fan of the show I’m about to mention for 20 years and I love it,” Haines told “The View” cohosts just moments before she announced her new role.

The Iowa native nabbed a permanent co-hosting position on “The View” in 2016, though her journey in television in recent years include “GMA3: Strahan and Sara.”

Last year, Haines returned to Newton for the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend.

The new season of “What Would You Do?” kicks off on Feb. 18 on ABC at 9 p.m.
