You'll never guess who 'Pitch Perfect' stars say are their most surprising fans

You’d think the Pitch Perfect movies would appeal to a young female demographic, and you wouldn’t be wrong. But Pitch Perfect 3 stars at the film’s recent Los Angeles press day noted that the series (about a tight-knit a capella group called The Bellas) has some seriously strong fans in a more surprising demo: older men.

Ester Dean says guys in their mid-40s come up to her for photos all time. Co-star Chrissie Fit adds, “I was at Ikea recently and a 50-year-old man came up to me with his 14-year-old daughter. And then I find out that he’s the big Pitch Perfect fan. And she’s like, ‘Dad, you’re embarrassing me.'”

Brittany Snow is amazed at how many athletes are into the films, which may have gotten a boost from sports fans after Pitch Perfect 2 featured members of the Green Bay Packers.

And Anna Kendrick revealed the movies are big with military personnel. “They do a lot of Pitch Perfect screenings over in Afghanistan and Iraq,” explained Rebel Wilson.

Considering Pitch Perfect 3 follows The Bellas to Europe on a USO Tour, the franchise’s support among the troops is about to get even stronger.

Pitch Perfect 3 is now in theaters.
