Yes, Sisqó Remade the "Thong Song"
Forget everything you’ve heard this summer, and prepare your eyes and ears for Sisqó’s – yes, that SisQó – entry into the 2017 Song of the Summer Race: “Thong Song.” No, you haven’t traveled back to the tail end of 1999, when everyone was freaking TF out about Y2K and I was on my seventh consecutive month of listening to the Backstreet Boys' new album Millennium (get it?) on my cute Discman. Folks, Sisqó, bless him, has remade “Thong Song” for the new generation.
As Sisqó tells BuzzFeed, he recently teamed up with producers JCY for the remake because he’s been asked about it “so many times over the years” and “figured maybe it was time to put some new rims on the Bugatti.” There’s a new video as well, if you’re curious what Sisqó looks like while singing the words, “She had dumps like a truck, truck truck” and “She was living la vida loca” (another great late-‘90s gem) today. According to Sisqó, the music video “turned out pretty good” despite the fact that he filmed it after dislocating three ribs during a concert. I mean, these dance moves are still pretty sick so don't be so hard on yourself, good sir.
