Make beer

Never mind it's the weekend, school is in session for some beer enthusiasts.

Obed and Isaac's Microbrewery and Eatery will host its first Springfield Beer School 101 class on Saturday. The class and subsequent classes will be held at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.

The class is free and limited to 15 students, requiring online registration at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/springfield-beer-school-101-tickets-57044187701?aff=ebdsoporgprofile.

Murder mystery dinner

It's dinner and a show at Maldaner's Restaurant, 230 S. Sixth St., on Saturday night.

From 6-9 p.m., the dining audience will try to determine whodunit during a family-friendly murder mystery dinner. Be ready because the culprit could be hiding among the audience.

Ticket sales close on Thursday at noon. The next show is scheduled for Jan. 13.

Puppy yoga

There will be a variety of downward dogs at Boondocks, 2909 N. Dirksen Parkway, on Sunday morning.

Starting at 10:30 a.m., attendees will participate in a 45-minute yoga session accompanied by puppies from Almost Home Rescue. The pups will be available for adoption to those who file applications, found at Almost Home Rescue's website, before the event.

Tickets will cover the yoga session and two drinks. Attendees should bring yoga mats.

Bridal show

Looking for wedding ideas? The Crowne Plaza Springfield Hotel is the place to be.

Central Illinois wedding professionals will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, to share bride and bridesmaid styles, videography and photography options, food vendors, and more.

Snow Queen

See the show that inspired "Frozen" on Sunday afternoon.

Dance Arts Youth Company and Dance Arts Studio will have two performances of "The Snow Queen" at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth St.

Tickets available online are $15 for reserved seats and $5 for kids five and younger.
