Emily Blunt found a unique way to celebrate her father's birthday — by bringing him to the 2024 Oscars!

Blunt, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at Sunday's 96th Academy Awards ceremony, brought her parents Oliver and Joanna, as well as her husband John Krasinski, to the awards ceremony. The Oppenheimer actress, 41, ultimately did not win Best Supporting Actress — the award went to The Holdovers' Da'Vine Joy Randolph — but that did not stop her from laughing with her family on the red carpet.

Blunt previously shared in PEOPLE's annual Oscars portfolio that her parents were "sort of angling for" her to take them to the Oscars after she received her first career nomination for playing Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's Best Picture-winning film.

"It's my dad's birthday that weekend," she said at the time.

Emily is the second of four children her parents Oliver and Joanna share. Her mother is a former actress and English teacher, while her father works as a lawyer at Furnival Chambers in London, per a biography on Leaders in Law's website. One of Emily's sisters, Felicity, is married to her The Devil Wears Prada costar Stanley Tucci.

Joanna and Oliver supported Emily throughout this most recent awards season and accompanied her to the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards in February. Blunt was nominated for best supporting actress at that awards show too, though The Holdovers actress Randolph, 37, also won that award as part of her awards season sweep.

Though Blunt missed out on her first career Oscar win, she and Barbie star Ryan Gosling teamed up for one of the ceremony's most amusing presentations when they took the stage to jokingly rib each other about the perceived Barbenheimer "rivalry" as awards season came to a close.

"That's right, here's Ken and Kitty just leaving all that fodder in the dust," she said on stage. "And the way this awards season's turned out, it wasn't that much of a rivalry, so, just let it go."

"It's true, you guys are doing very well, congratulations, but I think I've figured out why they called it Barbenheimer and didn't call it Oppenbarbie," Gosling jested in turn. "I think you guys are at the tail end of it because you were riding Barbie's coattails all summer."

"Thanks for Ken-splaining that to me, Mr. I-need-to-paint-my-abs-on-to-get-nominated - you don't see Robert Downey Jr. doing that," she answered, getting roars of laughter from the audience at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

The duo next star together in The Fall Guy, which releases May 3. The action-comedy revolves around Gosling's character, a stunt performer named Colt Seavers, who works with Blunt's director character on her upcoming science fiction blockbuster.
