New “Yellowstone”-Style Reality Series Sees Family 'Drama', 'Relentless' Pressure Fuel 'Fight' for Control of Ranch

'The McBee Family Dynasty: Real Life Cowboys' premieres March 11 on Peacock

The McBee family rules their part of rural Missouri — and has even attracted their fair share of enemies because of it. But it's the fight for control of their family's own farm and ranch that ultimately proves to be an ever harder road to hoe.

Peacock's upcoming reality series The McBee Family Dynasty: Real Life Cowboys is set to offer a behind-the-scenes look at rural Missouri's high-stakes world of farming and ranching through McBee Farm and Cattle. But per a synopsis from the streamer, the McBee family's ranch "stands at a crossroads, poised to either soar to billion-dollar success or plunge into financial ruin pending a pivotal decision from a Venture Capital investment firm."

Family patriarch and recent divorcee Steve McBee's "personal struggles threaten the stability of the family business," the description continues. "With tensions mounting between Steve and his sons — Steven Jr., Jesse and Cole — after an explosive affair, viewers can expect a rollercoaster ride of ambition and betrayal."

In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at the Yellowstone-style show's trailer, fans are quickly introduced to the McBees, with Steven Jr. of Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer fame noting they're "cowboys in every sense of the word."

However, while his brother Jesse says their lifestyle "may look fun," he suggests it's actually "chaos."

In fact, after spending the "majority" of his life "building this farm and ranch, acre by acre," the family's head has a big decision to make regarding the future of McBee Farm and Cattle: "One of the boys is going to have to take over the farm. I'm just not sure who that's going to be."

A fight to take over the ranch ensues, with Steven Jr. declaring he's "trying to run the global business" since "this company would not run without me." Later arguing about who their dad will ultimately "trust" with taking over the farm, he warns his brothers they don't stand a chance, adding, "That ain't gonna happen over my dead body."

When one of his siblings challenges the claim that he's "the head of the table," Steven Jr. boldly stands his ground and says, "Unless you want to fight me for it."

But taking on the job of running the farm comes with its own set of problems. "Right now, we're $50 million in debt," patriarch Steve reveals, noting how their CFO Galyna Saltkovska is "working to borrow $105 million."

"The success of this deal is in Galyna's hands," he adds.

The McBees, unfortunately, have several more issues afoot. Though they're well-known in their local community, Steven Jr. notes they "have so many enemies." A glimpse into the hatred for the brood is seen as one townsperson shouts "f--- you" as the McBees walk into an event together.

"It's like the whole world's against you," dad Steve says.

Amid trouble with the ranch and general dislike toward the family, other complications facing the family include the involvement of younger sibling Brayden, who wasn't as "close" with their father growing up, instead being raised by his mother. Steve is also dealing with the aftermath of his affair, as Galyna appears angered by the fact that he's using "my vehicle to take care of your w---e."

"The pressure's relentless," Steve later tells his sons. "One of you guys is gonna have to step up. We could lose everything."

As scenes of a blazing fire emerge, Steven Jr. tells his family: "I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say we'd rather die than watch this place go down."
