As the curtain comes down on 2023, it’s worth marking the occasion with celebrations that include a variety of live music and entertainment.

For Memphians, there are plenty of ways to ring in the new year with great sounds, and there is no shortage of concerts to cap the year.

Here are 10 standout shows — from top female singers to Smiths cover bands to DJ crate diggers — happening in town on Dec. 31.

As usual, Beale Street will be the epicenter of music and celebrations in Memphis this New Year’s Eve. There will be plenty of concerts all up and down the entertainment district, with standout acts from Rodd Bland Band at B.B. King's to Skyelor Anderson at the Tin Roof among those set to perform. Beale Street will only allow patrons 21 and older after 9 p.m. Individual clubs will have their own cover charges, but a Beale Street Fast Pass — which includes VIP access to several venues — is available for $100. Overton Square will offer up plenty of New Year’s Eve activity, and Lafayette’s Music Room promises plenty of live music, with a concert bill that will feature an early set by Memphis Soul Remedy and a NYE-capping performance by Aquanet. Doors open at 5 p.m. with Vegas-style seating. The event will offer hors d’oeuvres, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. VIP tickets are $107 per person or $187 for two. New Year’s Eve at The Peabody

Gather your friends and a glass of champagne to ring in 2024 at the "South's Grand Hotel" during The Peabody’s annual New Year's Eve Party. The Party Life: A New Year’s Eve Experience

Three of Memphis' top female singers, songwriters and performers — soul/R&B artist Susan Marshall, swamp popper Marcella Simien and country-rocker Cyrena Wages — join forces to ring in the new year with this triple bill at Mollie Fontaine Lounge. New Year’s Eve Party with Shotgun Shima

Noted Sacramento, California, record collector and DJ, Shotgun Shima brings his collection of rare funk, disco, neo-soul, house and everything in between to Downtown’s Central Station Hotel bar, as he spins a special set to ring in the new near. NYE Trap Ball

Held at the Memphis Marriott East, the NYE Trap Ball promises a mash-up of elegance, drip and culture, featuring some of your favorite trap songs, including old and new hits spun by the city’s top DJs. Hi-Tone New Year
