Yasiel Puig bat flips a single because he's awesome

Aside from Houston Astros star Jose Altuve, no player in the MLB postseason so far has been more entertaining than Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In Game 1 of the Dodgers’ series with Arizona Diamondbacks, he gave us that tongue-wagging triple and the crotch-chop celebration at second base. In Game 2, he kept it going — most notably by bat flipping a fourth-inning single into centerfield than energetically trying to get the Dodgers’ dugout more excited as they tried to come back from an early 2-1 deficit.

Seriously, look at Puig running to first base signaling back to his dugout:

Before you start to lecture Puig in the comment-section, consider this — it worked. The Dodgers tied the game right after, when D-backs starter Robbie Ray threw a wild pitch. They went ahead later in the inning on a Chris Taylor RBI single. They’d eventually rally for five runs in the fifth to take a bigger lead (Puig had an RBI single) and they’d tack another run in the seventh (Puig singled in that rally too). In the end, it all added up to an 8-5 win and a 2-0 lead in the series.

Puig, whether you love him or hate him, has been fantastic for the Dodgers in the NLDS. Not only do the numbers prove it — he’s 5-for-9 with four RBIs in both games — but he’s also been in the thick of almost all the action. Every inning the Dodgers scored in Game 2, Puig was involved one way or another.

So if he’s producing and wants to celebrate with a bat flip — we say flip that bat, Puig.
