Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Joins ‘The Greatest Showman On Earth’; Dan Amboyer Cast In ‘Brawl In Cell Block 99’

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast in Fox’s musical biopic The Greatest Showman On Earth directed by Michael Gracey. Starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya, the film follows the story of the famous American showman, P.T. Barnum, as he creates the three-ring circus that made him famous. Abdul-Mateen will play WD Wheeler, a hand-to-hand acrobat partner who is a smart, no-nonsense guy. Peter Chernin, Laurence Mark and Jenno Topping are producing with a script from Michael Arndt, based on Jenny Bicks’ original script. Abdul-Mateen can currently be seen on Netflix’s The Get Down and co-stars in the upcoming Baywatch remake opposite Dwayne Johnson and Efron. He is repped by Gersh and Anonymous Content.

Dan Amboyer has been added to Brawl In Cell Block 99, from writer/director S. Craig Zahler, alongside Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Carpenter. The story follows Bradley (Vaughn), a former boxer who, after losing his job, enters into the drug world and later lands in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground. Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller are producing for Caliber Media with XYZ Films executive producing. Amboyer will play a sarcastic and quick to react officer at the Franklin R. James detention center. He portrayed Prince William in the Hallmark TV movie William & Catherine: A Royal Romance and is repped by Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Harden-Curtis Associates, Abrams Artists Agency.
