It’s fair to say that Victor Newman has almost done it all on The Young and the Restless. His portrayer, Eric Braeden, is the one who brought all the storylines to life. However, there’s one particular storyline that the soap icon didn’t love.

Oh Brother

A bit over 13 years ago, things took a shocking turn on Y&R. Nick’s ex-wife and mother of his children, Sharon (Sharon Case), and Victor went on a date. They started a new relationship…again. They’d previously had a jailhouse marriage.

A fan named Christopher Attaway shared a tweet with the scene of Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) interrupting Sharon and Victor’s date. Victor seemed to take issue with Nikki and Jack (Peter Bergman) growing closer. Of course, that is happening these days, too, since Nikki chose Jack to be her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor.

Braeden weighed in on the scene, and he didn’t like the storyline. He replied, “One of the most badly executed storylines, EVER!!”

When fans asked questions about if he had a chance to protest, Braeden explained, “Once something is in the script it’s too late to undo!” To his credit, he made the scene believable and quite Victor-like, as you can see above.

Many viewers agreed, noting that they didn’t appreciate Victor marrying Nick’s ex-wife. Not surprisingly, Braeden agreed. “The storyline actually pissed me off!! I had envisioned an entirely different scenario! One in which he NEVER married Sharon! It was RIDICILOUS! Anyway, that’s all past!! Onward and upward!”

We can see the possibility of some issues with Nikki and Victor in the aftermath of the whole Jordan (Colleen Zenk) fiasco and Nikki falling off the wagon. However, we remain hopeful that we won’t see Victor turning to Sharon in a romantic capacity. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
