Xavi, Cinco de Mayo, Emmanuel concert among things to do in El Paso

It's a good weekend with lots of events in El Paso.

Cinco de Mayo kicks off Friday with a variety of events. The Dusty Tap Patio and Grill in Socorro will celebrate the holiday along with Cinco de Mayo.

The Border Folk Festival will feature a variety of musicians this weekend at the Fountains at Farah.

May the Fourth also will bring some fun events, like Food City's event on Saturday, May 4.

Singers Emmanuel and Xavi will perform in concert in El Paso.

Here is a closer look at the events.

Emmanuel coming to El Paso County Coliseum

Latin singer Emmanuel will perform on Friday, May 3, at the El Paso County Coliseum. Tickets, ranging from $49 to $199, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

The event will include performances by various mariachis, ballet folkloricos and vendors.

Dusty Tap celebrates 2 year anniversary

The Dusty Tap, 10297 Socorro Road, will celebrate its second anniversary during the Cinco de Mayo weekend. Performers will include Ms Fee Friday, 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, Los Profes 915, 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and Midnight Mist Band at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. The celebration will include specials and raffles.

Food City's May the Fourth event

Food City will have blue conchas as part of May the Fourth celebrations. The conchas are available for purchase at all Food City locations.

Food City Ranchland, at 7444 Gateway East Blvd., will have a Name Your Cow contest and event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. Customers also will be able to take a picture with Tru Moo Cow.

Celebrate Transportation Day in Las Cruces

Celebrate all things transportation at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum, 351 N Mesilla St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4. The event will be outdoors and include demonstrations, displays of adaptive bicycles and SWAT vehicles and activities. Admission will be free.

El Paso Border Folk Festival

The El Paso Border Folk Festival will celebrate Cinco de Mayo from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the amphitheater at the Fountains at Farah, which is in front of Haagen Daz.

Xavi, the Latin artist known for his corridos tumados, will bring his Poco a Poco Tour to El Paso May 5.

Xavi, the corrido tumbados artist of the moment, is bringing his "Poco a Poco" Tour to El Paso. The singer will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Plaza Theatre, 125 Pioneer Plaza. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9 via Ticketmaster.com. Pre-sale tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8.
