MaxXxine, the third chapter of Ti West’s Mia Goth-fronted horror trilogy is still on the horizon with little known about it, but a new snippet of information seems to have given it some fresh context.

UK horror magazine Scream has a source that told them MaxXxine will be presented as a ”whodunnit slasher”. Previous entries X and Pearl didn’t exactly play out as slashers themselves, so this would make MaxXxine a bit of a departure.

MaxXxine Making Murder Acceptable in the ’80s

Previously, we’d discovered that MaxXxine would take place in 1985 with Mia Goth reprising her role of Maxine Minx from X. It picks up six years after the farmstead massacre of X. Maxine is now residing in LA and still striving to become a star in the acting world. But her chances are hampered by the fact people keep dying around her.

MaxXxine also stars musician Halsey, horror stalwart Kevin Bacon, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang’s Michelle Monaghan, and Lilly Collins (Okja).

As it stands, MaxXxine has no release date, but with the film allegedly finished back in May, news can’t be too far off.
