In X-Men ’97 Episode 10, Bastion rips away Cable’s metal arm and merges with it to upgrade his form into a more powerful version. He then flies toward Asteroid M, intending to bring it down on Earth. However, the X-Men confront him, with Cyclops attempting to reason with Bastion. Cyclops’ attempts are cut short when the U.S. military launches missiles at Asteroid M, resulting in the core reactor exploding, which ends up seemingly killing Bastion.

Will Bastion return in X-Men ’97 Season 2?

Bastion’s return in X-Men ’97 Season 2 is not confirmed. However, he could potentially return at some point in the future.

The X-Men ’97 (and X-Men: The Animated Series) universe has a history of bringing back characters who were presumed dead. For instance, Morph, who seemingly died after his introduction in X-Men: The Animated Series’ premiere episode was later brought back from the dead in a surprising way. Thus, if this tradition continues, Bastion could also return in the future.
