X-Men ’97 Season 1 has concluded after a solid 10-episode run and fans wish to learn what happens in the post-credits scene of Episode 10. Although one of the major threats was dealt with, it seems the X-Men found themselves at the center of a new mysterious problem at the end of the first season’s final episode. Fans are also curious about the possibility of Gambit’s return in Season 2.

In the post-credits scene of X-Men ’97 Episode 10, Apocalypse arrives at Genosha in the present day, while several members of the X-Men find themselves trapped in different time periods.

Professor X, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Beast, and Magneto find themselves in Ancient Egypt in 3000 BC. Here, they encounter En Sabah Nur, a younger version of Apocalypse. Meanwhile, Jean Grey and Cyclops are transported to 3960 AD in a dystopian future. There, they meet a mysterious woman named Mother Askani and, unexpectedly, a young Nathan Summers.

Will Gambit return in X-Men ’97 Season 2?

Gambit could return in X-Men ’97 Season 2. This is because his return was teased in X-Men ’97’s end-credits scene. The scene is set in the present day and sees Apocalypse finding Gambit’s card in the rubble created by the Genosha massacre as he comments on how much “death” there has been.

In the comics, Gambit becomes a part of Apocalypse’s Horsemen as Death. Given the aforementioned X-Men ’97 end-credits scene teasing Gambit’s comeback, it seems the show’s creators will likely go this route. Gambit can be turned into Apocalypse’s horseman, following his resurrection. If so, Apocalypse will likely try to use this against the X-Men as revenge for his past defeats.

While Gambit’s return to the Disney Plus show is yet to take place, his possible comeback could strike several emotional chords amongst his teammates, especially Rogue, should they see him again.
