Wynonna Judd's Relationship with Husband Cactus Moser Is 35 Years in the Making

After several rocky relationships, Wynonna Judd finally found her happily ever after with her current husband, Cactus Moser.

Wynonna has been married a total of three times, but long before Wynonna married her first husband, her love story with now-husband Scott 'Cactus' Moser had already begun.

Wynonna first met Cactus Moser on tour, four years before she met her first husband Arch Kelley III. Cactus's band, Highway 101, toured with The Judds, Wynonna and her mother Naomi, in 1989.

The pair hit it off on the road, but lost touch after the tour ended. Wynonna and Cactus reconnected 20 years later in 2009. Two years later, Cactus and Wynonna got engaged on Christmas Eve 2011. The following year on June 10, 2012, they got married in a small, private ceremony on Wynonna's Tennessee farm.

Only Cactus and Wynonna's children attended the nuptials. "This family is everything to me," Wynonna shared in Between Hell and Hallelujah, her 2023 documentary. "I have three bonus children, as well as two of my own. Cactus and I have blended our family together and it's awesome."

Since their marriage, Wynonna and Cactus have supported each other through good times and bad. Just two months after their June wedding, Cactus Moser was injured in a motorcycle accident in South Dakota.

Wynonna was riding a separate motorcycle and rushed to the scene of the accident. Luckily, Cactus survived the incident, but he did have his left leg amputated above the knee and an injured hand.

Cactus returned in favor upon Naomi Judd's death in April 2022. Judd explained in her documentary that Cactus was her rock during the difficult time, and supported her both on and off stage as she continued The Judds final tour.

Cactus joined Wynonna as a full-time member of her band, Wynonna & The Big Noise. "He’s part of the backbone of the band,” Judd told Us Weekly of her husband in 2012. “I call him Animal because he attacks the drums, he doesn’t just play."

"Getting to do the musical part together, instead of separate, is a bonus. When you love what you do, and love each other, it's perfect," Cactus added in a 2014 Huffington Post interview.

Wynonna and Cactus have been happily married for nearly 12 years, and they clearly share a special bond. "We are so connected. It's crazy how connected we are. I trust him with my life, which, I can't always say that about men in my life." Judd told People in 2022.

Cactus will surely go down as the love of Wynonna's life, but her past marriages have been the source of scandal over the years.

Judd met her first husband, Arch Kelley III, in 1993. Kelley is the father of Wynonna's only biological children: Elijah and Grace. Elijah was born in 1994, before Wynonna and Arch married in 1996. They later welcomed Grace in 1996, who in adulthood has often ran into trouble with the law. Two years later, in 1998, Wynonna and Arch Kelley divorced.

Judd married her second husband, D.R. Roach, in 2003. Prior to their romantic involvement, Roach was Wynonna's longtime bodyguard. They remained married until 2007 when Wynonna filed for divorce after D.R. was arrested for child sexual assault and battery and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Wynonna later admitted that they both struggled with addiction during their marriage.
