FALL RIVER — Pro wrestlers have to show no fear when they step into the squared circle. But five WWE superstars recently visited the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River — and left absolutely terrified.

WWE debuted a weekly ghost-hunting show on its YouTube channel called ”Chamber of Horrors,” hosted by WWE stars Schotzi and Scarlett. In an episode released Oct. 25, the two visited the Lizzie Borden House with WWE performers Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn and on-air personality Kayla Braxton to investigate whether the infamous murder scene is haunted.

“We’re wondering tonight, did Lizzie actually do it, because she was never found guilty,” says Scarlett.

Which WWE performers stayed at the Lizzie Borden House?

Schotzi, a green-haired horror fan known for riding up to the ring in a tank, and wrestler-manager Scarlett have been dabbling in paranormal investigations since late September. The two wrestlers are signed to WWE’s SmackDown brand, and are currently hosting NXT’s Halloween Havoc event.

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are a tag team, former NXT Women’s Tag Team champions.

Braxton is a ring announcer and backstage interviewer.

Did the WWE superstars see ghosts at the Lizzie Borden House?

The quintet received a personal tour of 230 Second St. from Lizzie Borden House tour guide (and former Herald News city editor) Phil Devitt.

Throughout the episode, Devitt shows the women around the home’s hotspots, including the living room where Andrew Borden was found slain with a hatchet, the basement where he says bloodstains may still be present on the floorboards, and the bedroom once occupied by the Bordens’ maid Bridget Sullivan.

In one scene, Braxton lies on the carpet on the second floor where Abby Borden was found murdered and claims to have heard a woman whispering in her ear.

Slumber parties have advanced since the days of Ouija boards — these wrestlers use electronic equipment including a “spirit box” to try to speak with ghosts, and a virtual reality headset that, according to Scarlett, “uses frequencies that the ghosts can [use to] create AI images through an app.”

The weapon used to slay Andrew and Abby Borden was never found. When the WWE stars ask the ghosts where the hatchet wound up, the app produces an image of a building that could be a mill, or possibly the A.J. Borden building on North Main Street, once owned by Andrew Borden.

“I’ve been here for two years," Devitt says. “This is maybe the best investigation I’ve ever been part of.”
