WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Generated $47 Million In Economic Impact For St. Petersburg

WWE’s Royal Rumble isn’t just one of the biggest premium live events of the year for the company; it also provides a major economic boost to its host city.

According to an economic impact report from the Visit St. Pete/Clearwater tourism board (via Parker Fluke of FOX 13), the 2024 Royal Rumble — which took place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg — generated $47 million to the Florida area. The report states that 48,044 fans attended the event.

To be exact, the event generated $47,047,401 in overall economic impact. $28,337,038 of that came from actual spending on the event. The event also generated $2,923,664 in tax dollars. The tourism board also noted that St. Petersburg’s Sun Runner bus transit system saw a 95% increase in ridership. Local business saw remarkable increases as well.

Furthermore, Fluke writes that “$60,000 was donated to ARC Tampa Bay, Miracle by the Bay, Boys & Girls Club of St. Petersburg, and the Pinellas Education Foundation.”

As of this writing, the host city of WWE Royal Rumble 2025 has not been confirmed. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
