WWE: The Miz Reveals The Invaluable Lessons He's Learned From John Cena

With John Cena’s upcoming return to WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” on June 27, his fellow Superstars have been taking time to reflect on Cena’s enormous impact in the sports entertainment ring. One half of USA Network’s “Miz & Mrs,” Mike Mizanin, aka “The Miz,” had nothing but good things to say — of course — about his “ruthless” in-ring adversary on a recent episode of “In The Kliq” podcast.

"It was a teaching moment for me,” Mike said of sharing the ring with Cena during the interview alongside his wife, Maryse. “It showed me what it takes to be a main-event-caliber Superstar. I'm very thankful for those moments because it allowed me to have the confidence that I have today in my abilities.”

After 20 years in the WWE ring, Cena naturally has plenty of advice to dole out, from his “never give up” attitude to the perfect way to deliver an “Attitude Adjustment.”

“Cena is a wealth of knowledge and he's more than willing to hand it out if you're willing to listen,” Mike continued. “He would always teach me different things in the ring that I need to do: how to listen, how to hear, what to do, when to do it. I could go on and on and on. Cena has taught me a lot [about] the WWE and entertainment.”

As fans of “Miz & Mrs” know, there’s likely plenty outside the ring, as well. Certified nice guy Cena — who’s beloved for his good humor and seemingly constant acts of charity — might seem vastly different from The Miz’s braggadocious and grating in-ring persona, but the USA Network series gives a behind-the-scenes look into Mike and Maryse’s life outside the ring, as well. Sure, Mike Mizanin is a world-class Superstar, but he’s also a father to two girls — Monroe and Madison — and a loving, devoted husband.
