2K announced on Monday that the legendary superstar and future WWE Hall of Famer John Cena will grace the cover of its upcoming WWE 2K23 video game, which will release worldwide on March 17, 2023.

The announcement comes in celebration of Cena’s 20th anniversary as a WWE superstar. The 16-time world champion and Hollywood actor will be featured on three different covers of the game, covering three different poses and eras of the superstar’s career.

“It is a pleasure to tell the story of my career through the WWE 2K23 Showcase,” said John Cena. “2K has done a fantastic job capturing and invigorating the WWE 2K franchise through this concept, and I am honored to grace the cover of WWE 2K23.”

A brief trailer for the game was also released, with Cena appearing invisible throughout it thanks to his “You can’t see me” catchphrase. A second trailer is also planned to release during WWE’s 30th Anniversary edition of Monday Night RAW later tonight.

Alongside the news of a new cover star, 2K also announced that global music phenomenon Bad Bunny will also make his debut into the game as a playable character. A new tweak to WWE 2K‘s “2K Showcase” game mode is also set to appear in the game, which will allow players to step into the shoes of some of John Cena’s toughest competitors throughout his career and attempt to defeat one of the biggest WWE legends ever. Also announced for the game is the inclusion of the fan-favorite WarGames match, a match that features two side-by-side rings surrounded by a steel cage.

Also returning to the game in 2023 are popular modes like MyGM, MyFACTION, and MyRISE. For those looking to pre-order the game, there are currently four editions available (Standard, Cross-Gen, Deluxe, and Icon). The Deluxe Edition ($99.99) includes a Bad Bunny Bonus Pack, plus the Season Pass that has access to all five post-launch DLC packs, as well as a litany of MyRise and MyFaction boosts.

The Icon Edition ($119.99) includes all of the bonus content from the Deluxe Edition, as well as the “Ruthless Aggression Pack,” which features a variant version of John Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton, as well as an Emerald Paul Heyman MyFaction Manager Card, and three Deluxe Premium Launch MyFaction Card Packs.
