WrestleMania 2 Competitor, Super Bowl Champion Russ Francis Passes Away

Russ Francis passed away at the age of 70 after he was in a plane crash on October 1.
The New England Patriots announced the news. Francis wrestled for years, most notably in the battle royal at WrestleMania 2. The match included several noteworthy names, including Andre the Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Jim Neidhart, John Studd, The Iron Sheik, and William “The Refrigerator” Perry.
Francis was also a Super Bowl Champion tight end in the NFL. He played for the Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers during his career.
