'Wrecked' to Crash TBS Lineup in June

Prepare to have your summertime wrecked in the best possible way. TBS has announced a June 14 launch date for its new comedy series, Wrecked, which seeks to find the funny side of being stranded on a desert island. In other words, it’s more Gilligan’s Island than Lost, although as the above promo makes clear, the Damon Lindelof/Carlton Cuse series will be a source of much (comic) inspiration.

Riffing on the famous plane crash sequence that opened the J.J. Abrams-directed Lost pilot (above), Wrecked’s promo finds the show’s large ensemble cast — including Zach Cregger, Asif Ali and Rhys Darby — running like mad around a tropical beach, dodging plane debris and injured passengers. (The only thing missing are polar bears, but those might come barreling out of the jungle in the third episode.) After this chaotic beginning, the castaways are going to have to assemble some kind of semblance of community while they await rescue. Just as long as they don’t stumble upon any hatches…

Wrecked premieres June 14 at 10 p.m. on TBS
