Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin went live on Facebook Friday during an episode of their "The Biebers on Watch" video series and answered fan questions, one of whom asked the couple: "Would you ever change anything if you could go back in time?"
The "Changes" artist, 26, said while he doesn't regret anything in his life, he would go back and do certain things differently.
"If I could go back and not have to face some of the bad hurt that I went through, I would've probably saved myself for marriage," Bieber said. "Sex can be kind of confusing when you're just being sexually active with anybody."
Baldwin on the other hand, said while she disagrees with Bieber, she understands where he's coming from.
"I don't know if I'd say the same, but you had different experiences with like, everything ... different journeys," Baldwin, 23, said. "But I do agree with the fact that I think that being physical sometimes can make things more confusing."
The Biebers have been open about their relationship before, including some frank talk about difficulties they've faced in their relationship.
The couple got candid about their initial breakup in 2016 during the premiere of their Facebook series – as well as what helped them decide to get back together and eventually marry.
The couple reginited their relationship in the summer of 2018 and got engaged that July following years of rumors of their on-again, off-again dating. The two married quietly that September, and then held a ceremony with friends and family a year later.
"How did you think you regained that trust and the confidence in me?" Bieber asked his wife, while out in a boat on a lake. "Because at the time, there was so much hurt and there was so much pain. What got you through that? Was it your faith?"
Baldwin described how she needed to mourn her relationship with the pop star after they broke up and were "not on good terms."
"I didn’t just throw myself into a relationship or throw myself into something else," she said. "I didn’t search for something to just come take your place and be like another relationship and try to fill a void in that way. I really let myself feel the emotions that I was feeling."
