Two days after WeWork hired its new CEO, the limited series following the company’s dramatic rise and rapid decline has found a showrunner — creator Stephen Falk.
Hailing from Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content, the untitled WeWork project will star Nicholas Braun (A.K.A. Cousin Greg from HBO’s “Succession”) as WeWork cofounder Adam Neumann, which will be based on the upcoming book from Wall Street Journal reporters Eliot Brown and Maureen Farrell, who have been reporting on the company for several years.
The series has not yet landed at a network.
Falk is best known as the creator of FX’s “You’re the Worst,” as well as writing for “Orange Is the New Black” and “Weeds.” He will executive producer alongside Braun, with Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content serving as the studio via their partnership.
The series will begin shooting this year, as Braun has committed to shoot the WeWork project immediately following the completion of production on season 3 of “Succession.”
According to the show’s description, the book will chronicle “the spectacular rise and abrupt comedown of the nearly $50 billion start-up, which soared like Uber and Airbnb only to see its attempted IPO crash in the wake of revelations about the erratic management and personal enrichment of its founder Adam Neumann, as well as questions about its business model and the role of funders like JPMorgan and Softbank.” The book will be published by Crown, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
