Should We Be Worried About Kanye West?

Kanye West is reminding the world just how rich and famous he actually is...and if you forget it, you won't now because he changing his name to "Christian Genius Billionaire." But is there a major issue here?

Kanye made an appearance alongside his wife, Kim Kardashian, at the Fast Company Innovation Festival and told the crowd he may change his name to Christian Genius Billionaire so that he gets the proper credit as an entrepreneur.

During the panel discussion, West's revelation came as he pointed out the global dominance of his Yeezy brand. "When I did Forbes, I showed them an $890 million receipt and they still didn't say 'billionaire."

Kanye was referencing an article in which called Yeezy a "billion-dollar empire. "They don't want us to know that we can buy land; they don't want us to have the 100 percent ownership I have at Yeezy," he continued.

West told the crowd, "When people say it's crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y'all understand exactly what it is...It will be on the license plate."

Genius? Or Mental Illness?

But, the outburst has sparked a conversation about if Kanye is blazing new ground, or if he is just off of his medication.

In 2016, Kanye was hospitalized for 8 days in Los Angeles after doctors believed his mental state was so bad he needed that long to stabilize.

Kanye has gone on the record, admitting he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and even said he would not take his medication due to it curbing his creativity.

Fans have begun to question Kanye, especially since his defense of President Donald Trump, and promise to run for office in 2024.

"Its time @kanyewest was straight-jacketed & locked up" one person tweeted.

Kanye used the mental illness excuse in a recent interview, pointing out that calling him "crazy" is an excuse to not listen to the uncomfortable topics he is bringing up.

Stirring Up Controversy

Many reports point out Kanye's personal issues and an important part of the current conversation.

Including the following:

He stirred up controversy, last year, by suggesting slavery was a choice.

Several years ago, he tweeted to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg asking for $1 billion, saying he was currently $53 million in debt.

He said at the time, "I’m this generation’s Disney...I want to bring dope s**t to the world...I don’t have enough resources to create what I really can."

And in 2009, he posed for Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns, and compared himself to Jesus.

Finding God...

West is a born again Christian, which has manifested itself into his new album, 'Jesus Is King.'

Kanye has discussed his faith as being a positive force in his life saying, "I will continue to be used by God."

In a recent interview, he said, "No one loves pain but I’m still, through the good times and the suffering I praise God because I experience the blessings and I also experience the lessons."

The problem is...many are associating his connection to the church as a refection of his right-wing political alignment.

New Ranch In Wyoming

Kanye and Kim purchased a large plot of land in Cody, Wyoming and West has said it will play a central roll in his creative process.

Kanye has spent time at the ranch with his family and friends. The site was even used to finish his latest album.

He has pointed out, in the interview, the family's new 4,000-acre ranch will allow the brand to test "seed-to-sew" methods of growing their own materials.

Sounds like a great vision, but the question remains is he a true visionary? Or should we be worried about him?

Time will tell...
