And the winner is…

World’s 50 Best Bars just made its annual selection of top drinking destinations across the globe. And the first-prize-winning bar is located in none other than Barcelona, Spain.

The bar, which is called Sips, came to life in 2021 after internationally renowned bartenders Simone Caporale and Marc Álvarez combined forces. The report commends the bar’s ability to make a fantastic yet unpretentious cocktail, and its creativity when it comes to presentation.

Some favorites? The Primordial, which blends 12-year-old Scotch, Ruby Port, and pera nashi — it’s served in a vessel that looks more like a replica of two hands, rather than a typical glass. Another popular menu item is the Daiquiri Heliodora, which blends grapefruit shaved ice, sherry, rum, and lime. The twist is that patrons actually blend the drink together themselves, using a manual, hand-turned crank.

World’s 50 Best Bars also highlights the establishment’s charming and adaptable pastel décor. It  looks bright and inviting during the day — but sultry and alluring at night. Sips also has a tasting menu experience called Esencia, but reservations to partake are required.

The yearly report is published by William Reed, who also publishes The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and The World's 50 Best Hotels. The votes come from almost 700 bar experts worldwide, including bartenders, drink writers, and cocktail specialists, comprised of a 50/50 gender balance.

After Sips, New York’s Double Chicken Please; Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy; Barcelona’s Paradiso; London’s Connaught Bar; Paris’ Little Red Door; Mexico City’s Licorería Limantour; London’s Tayēr + Elementary; Cartagena’s Alquímico; and Oslo’s Himkok were also listed in World’s Best Bar’s top 10.

Those planning to travel to visit the world’s top 50 bars may want to take notes from etiquette queen Martha Stewart. In August, the home decorating icon and lifestyle guru spoke with PEOPLE exclusively on what is considered to be “acceptable” behavior when traveling and dining out.

At bars and restaurants, Stewart stressed the importance of being polite to waitstaff; eating polite amounts of food at a time; and eating slowly. Stewart told PEOPLE her 12-year-old granddaughter Jude is a prime example of a polite patron.

"She sits straight, she puts her napkin on her lap, she can eat with chopsticks ... and she's extremely polite," she noted proudly. "We had the most pleasant time, but it really does require pleasant behavior in a restaurant."

While traveling, Stewart stresses the importance of maintaining a clean hotel room — she folds her towels, returns any hangers to the closet, and wipes down the sink.

“I just can't bear it when people leave a horrible mess in the room,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “It's the worst."
