Wondering where to watch the total solar eclipse? Try the Texas Eclipse Festival in Burnet

A total solar eclipse is passing over Texas in April and a festival in Burnet is celebrating with live music, scientists, astronauts, camping, and more.

Texas Eclipse Festival runs April 5-9 at Reveille Peak Ranch, 105 County Road 114. The ranch is 1,200 acres. The festival has a vast music lineup which includes Charlotte de Witte, Swaylo, and Renegade Opera, among many more. In between all the music, the festival is offering up yoga and art activities, along with a space travel expo and conversations about space exploration.

"After four days at Texas Eclipse, you may never look at the world the same way again," the festival's website reads.

When is the total solar eclipse?

The total solar eclipse is passing over Texas on April 8. A total solar eclipse is when the moon moves in front of the sun, blocking its light. The next total solar eclipse visible from the United States won't happen until Aug. 23, 2044.

The ranch where the Texas Eclipse Festival is being held is near the center of the eclipse's path, which means the area will experience a longer duration of darkness than areas on the edge of the path.
