The Women's World Cup starts July 20, and many Milwaukee soccer bars are gearing up for the worldwide tournament.

With the tournament taking place on the other side of the earth, game times will be on the later side. Still, many bars are preparing for big turnouts, especially for the reigning World Cup champion U.S. Women's squad.

If you're looking for somewhere to join other soccer fans in the area, here's what you should know.

Where can I watch the Women's World Cup in Milwaukee?

The Highbury Pub (2322 S Kinnickinnic Ave., Milwaukee) - Home of the Milwaukee chapter of the American Outlaws, the U.S. team fan club, Highbury is one of Milwaukee's favorite soccer bars. Typically, the bar has deals tailored to the teams playing. Owner Joe Katz told the Journal Sentinel they also hope to have food trucks or food options for U.S. team matches.

Red Lion Pub (1850 North Water St., Milwaukee) - A British-style pub located on the East Side, the Tottenham Hotspurs hub draws soccer fans to its two-story location with many TVs and usually a projector for big events. It gets packed around game time, so it's best to get there early.

Three Lions Pub (4515 N Oakland Ave, Shorewood) - Another British-style pub owned by the same owners of Red Lion. For the 2019 Women's World Cup, they hosted a massive watch party for the championship game, even closing down a section of Oakland Avenue.

Nomad World Pub (1401 E Brady St.) - Nomad has one of the best pandemic makeovers and one of the largest spaces for sports viewing in the city. The additions of a coffee shop, a massive outdoor patio and also closing a side street for even more seating give you the ability to watch the best athletes in the world inside and outside. It would be hard not to be able to find a TV.

Moran's Pub (912 Milwaukee Ave, South Milwaukee) - A classic soccer pub in South Milwaukee worth the trip. Pub owner James Moran said that they will have drink specials and raffles for U.S. games. One highlight Moran mentioned for the July 21 U.S. game was that you'll be able to print your face or any photo on a pint of Guinness. You can find an example here.

Champion's Pub (2417 N. Bartlett Ave.) - Located a couple blocks off of the intersection of North and Oakland avenues, Champion's Pub is a great place to catch a game with great service and a beautiful patio.
