Sol Ruca & Lash Legend Advance To NXT Battleground

On June 9, six women will compete for the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Championship at NXT Battleground. So far, two of these competitors have been confirmed.

Earlier this week, Sol Ruca defeated Izzi Dame to cement herself as the first participant in the six-woman ladder match at NXT Battleground. Meta-Four’s Lash Legend followed suit shortly after as she beat Ivy Nile with a jumping pump kick in the second qualifying match.

Qualifiers for the NXT Women’s North American Championship match will continue next week, with Fallon Henley taking on Thea Hail and Brinley Reece facing Jaida Parker. This series will conclude with Michin wrestling Tatum Paxley while Kelani Jordan clashing with Wren Sinclair.

Elsewhere on this week’s episode of NXT, Lola Vice defeated Carlee Bright after hitting her with a spinning back fist. Following this victory, Vice will team up with her mentor Shayna Baszler to face off against Karmen Petrovic and Natalya next week.

WWE Queen Of The Ring Tournament Continues

Next weekend, WWE will crown its second ever Queen of the Ring (originally Queen’s Crown). Following this week’s episode of WWE RAW, two women have confirmed themselves for the semi-finals of the tournament. Tomorrow night on WWE SmackDown, two more will follow suit.

Earlier this week, two hosted two quarterfinals matches on Raw, pitting Shayna Baszler against IYO SKY and Lyra Valkyria against Zoey Stark. Baszler and SKY, of course, were no stranger to each other, as they memorably faced off in WWE NXT. In the end, it was SKY who emerged victorious after deliver a moonsault to Baszelr.

Later in the evening, Valkyria and Stark battled in their first ever singles match. Toward the end of the bout, Stark attempted to nail Valkyria with a Z-360. Valkyria, however, countered with a Nightwing, subsequently allowing her to gain the three count on pinfall. With this win, Valkyria will now move on to face SKY in the tournament semi-finals next week.

On the SmackDown side of the tournament, Jade Cargill will collide with Nia Jax in the quarterfinals, as Tiffany Stratton squares off with Bianca Belair on tomorrow’s episode of the blue brand. The former matchup come in the wake of Cargill’s victory over Piper Niven and Jax’s victory over Naomi in the opening round. Similarly, Stratton defeated Michin in the first round, while Belair beat Candice LeRae.
