MISHAWAKA — The Acting Ensemble presents “Women Doing … Shakespeare” at 7:30 p.m. March 5 at 602 E. Mishawaka Ave.

Throughout theater history, men have played all parts, including female roles. This annual event is a chance for women to play any part they want, and this year, the excerpts are from Shakespeare’s lesser-known works.

A newly discovered portrait of William Shakespeare, presented by the Shakespeare Birthplace trust, is seen in central London, Monday March 9, 2009. The portrait, believed to be almost the only authentic image of the writer made from life, has belonged to one family for centuries but was not recognized as a portrait of Shakespeare until recently. There are very few likenesses of Shakespeare, who died in 1616.

Arranged by Judy Spigle and directed by Leigh Taylor, this StageWorks Staged Reading Series production features Ginny Cipolla, Dawn Hagerty, Sarah Myers, Allison Pajor and Judy Spigle.

Appropriate for all ages.

Tickets are $11-$10.
