Woman whose thug ex-partner broke into house saved by friend - who whacked him with a frying pan
A woman whose ‘thug’ ex-partner broke into her house and attempted to assault her was rescued by a friend - who whacked him in the head with a frying pan.
David John Shorrock’s mugshot shows him with black eyes and cuts after the victim’s friend fought him off.
Shorrock, 34, was given a restraining order in 2018 to prevent him from contacting his former partner after their “toxic” relationship came to an end.
The woman asked a friend to stay at her house in Accrington after receiving a string of threatening and abusive text messages from Shorrock that begun on October 4, 2019.
On October 5, he forced his way into the victim’s home, then grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall.
The victim’s 14-year-old son witnessed the altercation.
As Shorrock grabbed his ex-partner by the throat, her friend intervened and hit the attacker over the head with a frying pan.
Shorrock retaliated by throwing a boiled kettle of water at the woman and screaming “this is not over” before fleeing the house.

The court heard how he was tracked down by police to a nearby bus stop and arrested, before being taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment for his injuries
While in police custody, Shorrock tried to escape from the hospital - but police apprehended him moments later.
Shurrock, from Hapton, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for charges of breaching a restraining order, threats to kill, assault causing actual bodily harm and escaping from custody.
Speaking during sentencing at Preston Crown Court, Recorder Michelle Brown said: “There was a restraining order in place and you continued to call and text her.
"Your texts alternated between you declaring your undying love for her and being offensive and threatening.
“You made threats to her describing how you would kick her head in. She was fearful of your actions and arranged to have a friend to come and stay in her home.”
