Woman who thought she had kidney stones gives birth to surprise triplets

A woman who recently gave birth to triplets says she didn't find out about her pregnancy until she went to the hospital with what she thought were kidney stones.

Dannette Gilt of South Dakota gave birth to the healthy triplets on Aug. 10, but she initially thought she had kidney stones, KOTA-TV reports.

The new mom said that when she started having pains, she thought it was from kidney stones, which she has had before.

It turns out she was 34 weeks pregnant.

Doctors told her she was actually in labor with multiple babies.

Giltz then thought she was having twins as she gave birth. Her husband Austin was holding two babies when doctors asked for another blanket.

"His reaction is like, ‘Excuse me, put it back, no, I was told I have twins, I'm not doing triplets,’” she told KOTA.

“She's like, ‘No, there's three babies in here, there's triplets.’”

The triplets were born within four minutes and were named Blaze, Gypsy and Nikki.
