A woman’s family drama has her
wondering if she’s selfish for wanting to
keep her hypothetical wedding dress.
The 23-year-old woman took to Reddit to explain
that as the oldest, she has always passed her
clothing down to her younger sister and cousins.
when talk came up about the woman’s future wedding,
she was heartbroken to discover her sister expected
to receive the dress as a hand-me-down too.
“I thought she was joking but then my mother
chimed in and said, ‘No, no, you’ll have to
choose something your sister likes as your
dress will be passed onto her’”.
When the woman said she would be
the only one wearing her dress, her
mother and sister became furious.
“[They] got very angry at me, telling me
that it would be selfish and that I was depriving
the family of a nice tradition”.
The Reddit commentariat agreed
that this woman was definitely
not the wrong party here.
"That is one of the most ridiculous things
I’ve ever heard and it shows clear favoritism
towards your sister and what she wants
instead of what you want,” a user said
