Amy and Jeremy say they’ve committed their adopted son, Nick, to nine different treatment facilities over the years due to his aggressive behaviors.

“We’ve had to set really clear limits when we felt he was a threat to himself and other people,” says Amy, who is also a therapist. “We’ve utilized nine different treatment facilities, as well as a program that is the best in our area for trauma.”

Amy says she doesn’t believe any of the facilities are working for her son. She claims Nick was asked to leave one program after he was caught stealing, made threats to the staff, and tried to stab another youngster with a key.

“She’s a therapist – why can’t she fix him?” asks Nick’s biological mother, Lupita. She claims that Amy sends Nick to a facility every time he gets in trouble “that way she doesn’t have to be bothered with him.”

Lupita was stripped of her parental rights a decade ago when she was incarcerated for violating probation on charges she physically abused her stepson. She was reintroduced to Nick after Amy reached out, hoping Lupita might be able to help with some of Nick’s issues; a decision she now says she regrets.

Lupita says Nick belongs with her. What does Nick tell Dr. Phil he wants?
