Congratulations are in order for Wolfgang Van Halen, who married his longtime girlfriend, Andraia Allsop, in a ceremony at their Los Angeles home on Sunday (October 15th). The rocker brought a little metal to the festivities by including the mighty Meshuggah on the wedding playlist.

Wolfgang and Andraia got married on the eighth anniversary of their first date (October 15th, 2015). According to People, the bride was walked down the aisle by her father as Dean Martin’s “Everybody Loves Somebody” played.

Meanwhile, Wolfgang walked down the aisle with his mom, Valerie Bertinelli, to a tune written by his late father, the legendary Eddie Van Halen. “The song that my father had written for me, it’s an instrumental piece called ‘316,’ he told People in a pre-wedding interview. “It’ll be a nice way to include my dad.”

Back in August, the couple revealed that their first dance would be to Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” with Wolfgang telling Heavy Consequence about the song’s connection with his dad. “Peter Gabriel is one of our favorite artists,” said Wolfgang. “So is one of my favorite albums of all time, and it was one of my dad’s favorite albums of all time. So, I’ve just had a connection with Peter Gabriel and his music forever, and simultaneously, my fiancée [is a fan], as well. So, we couldn’t think of a better song.”

In the pre-ceremony interview with People, the couple also revealed that Swedish extreme metallers Meshuggah would be represented at the wedding, “When I talked to our DJ, he was very excited about our vision,” explained Andraia. “The one thing that I want, I want Wolfie to have his moment of one of his favorite bands, Meshuggah.”

Wolfgang added, “They’re very progressive metal, I think to anybody, to the non-informed crowd though, it would probably just sound like death metal. Anyone over 40 will be terrified. But you know what? It’s my wedding and I’ll do whatever I want.”

Asked whether he planned to perform at his own wedding, Wolfgang responded, “I think people’s first impression is like, ‘Oh, are you going to play something?’ And it’s like, no, that’s the last thing I want to do. I’m going on tour in 11 days. I don’t want to. Last thing I want to think about is playing anything.”
