Witchy talents! 90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Michelle may have a new career path as a reality TV star following her overseas romance with her husband, Manuel Vélez, but the season 10 alum had already established herself in the United States as a “spiritual entrepreneur.”

What Is ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Ashley’s Job?

Ashley is from Rochester, New York, and considers herself to be a witch. The TLC personality specializes in tarot, astrology and shadow work.

“I was born spiritual as f--k. I’ve always shared a deep connection with water, the earth beneath my feet and a knowing in my gut that there is more than just the confined walls of the earth,” she captioned a September 2023 Instagram post. “Stepping into my witchcraft head first was scary. It was scary telling my parents that I’m going to build a business centered around spiritual awakenings.”

On her business website, she offers mentorship and a resource library for those who have decided “to put their spiritual development first.”

“With a bachelor's degree in biology and having gone to school for business, my inquisitive nature is the perfect match for some of the more esoteric topics in spirituality, religion, science and magick,” she proudly displayed online to her clients. “Join me lightworkers as we uncover the greatest gifts that Spirit has to offer.”

What Else Does ‘90 Day Fiance’ Star Ashley Do For a Living?

Apart from her spiritual work, the self-proclaimed witch earns a paycheck for her appearances on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. While it isn’t known exactly how much money she receives for the reality TV stint, the franchise reportedly pays its cast members between $1,000 to $1,500 per episode.

Ashley also earns money on Cameo, where fans can order personalized video messages. She charges $15 per video and also offers personalized tarot card readings.

90 Day Fiance's Manuel Learned Ashley Was $100K in Debit

During their season 8 run on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Manuel learned Ashley was $100,000 in debt as the pair discussed signing a postnuptial agreement. While he initially was against the agreement, Manuel changed his mind and agreed the document sounded like a great idea as he felt Ashley wasn’t good at saving money.

How Does Manuel Feel About Ashley Being a Witch?

Prior to his arrival from Ecuador, Ashley worried about how her fiancé would receive her “witchy practice.”

“When I met Manuel in Ecuador, we became engaged after like, a week,” the business owner explained in a teaser clip shared by the network on September 12, 2023. “But I haven’t told him I am a witch.”

In an October 2023 episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Ashley sat down in her living room with Manuel to have the discussion about her identity as a witch. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly grew tense as they struggled to get on the same page about Ashley's practice.

Manuel refused to accept that Ashley was a witch because he felt the definition of a witch is "a person who does harm."

"I don't think she's a witch, because in Ecuador, witches are people who do harm," Manuel explained in his confessional. "But she's not that."

Ashley tried to explain to Manuel her definition of a witch. "A witch is a person that uses and works with spirituality to have a life that is much better," she said. That prompted Manuel to Google the definition of the word "witch," which led to even more tension. Ashley needed to step outside because she was getting heated by their conversation.

"This witch thing is gonna be hard to navigate through because he's not understanding. He's looking at these old-school witch from Snow White definitions," Ashley told producers. "I'm a motherf--king witch, hoe. How are you not getting that?"

The conversation about her witchy practice only continued after their nuptials. Manuel introduced Ashley to his uncle Leo during an April 2024 episode but warned Ashley in advance not to say the word “witch” in front of him.

While Ashley was nervous to meet Leo, the meeting seemingly went well until she began to talk about her spirituality and Tarot beliefs and Manuel’s uncle did not understand the concepts.

“Manuel was not even joking about how religious he is,” Ashley said in a private confessional about Manuel’s uncle. “It’s a lot. I find the bible more as a learning tool, more than words to live by personally.”
