‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Teaser: Liam Hemsworth Takes Over for Henry Cavill

After Henry Cavill exited “The Witcher,” a first look at Season 4 of the Netflix series teases new star Liam Hemsworth as the recast character. A Google search lists Cavill at 6’1″ and Hemsworth as 6’3″ — if you can believe those things.

Per the synopsis: After the shocking, Continent-altering events that closed out Season 3, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) who are faced with separately traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons. If they can embrace and lead the respective groups of misfits they find themselves in, the trio have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.

“The Witcher” is created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Other EPs include Steve Gaub, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Films, and Jason Brown and Sean Daniel of Hivemind Content.

Season 4’s episodic writers are Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (401), Tania Lotia (402), Rae Benjamin (403), Troy Dangerfield (404), Matthew D’Ambrosio (405), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (406), Clare Higgins (407), and Mike Ostrowski (408). Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb each direct two episodes.

Showrunner Hissrich told Entertainment Weekly that Cavill received the “most heroic sendoff that we could have” as Geralt. For Season 4, the character “has a new mission in mind” and is “slightly different Geralt than we expected.”

Well, maybe because it’s a different actor playing him all together.
