This Wisconsin bakery is making football jersey cookies inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's new relationship

The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fanfare has hit Wisconsin.

National Bakery and Deli — known to keep up with the latest trends — is making red football jersey cookies inspired by the new power couple.

The cookies are sporting 87, the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end's number, along with the Grammy-award winning superstar's last name.

The idea for the cookies came from lead cake decorator Julie Brooks, who has been with the bakery for about a decade, and Jeff Callen, who co-owns the business with Bryant Krauss.

"We kind of keep up with what's trending and what people are talking about," Brooks said. "And then, if it's a good thing in the news, we try to turn it around and see if we can do something."

That's exactly what the bakery did with the news of the new pair.

Swift and Kelce made their first public appearance on Sept. 24 at a home game at Arrowhead Stadium after rumors had been swirling that the two had been seeing each other.

During the game, Swift sat in a suite with Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce. Postgame, Swift and Kelce were seen walking out of the stadium together, then driving away in a convertible.

Swift has continued being spotted at Kelce's games — chatting with Donna and cheering with quarterback Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes. Swift even had her star-studded lineup of friends at a game.

The cookie is a sugar cookie dipped in chocolate, Brooks said. The writing is chocolate, too.

How and where to get the cookies

The cookies are available at all three National Bakery and Deli locations:

• 3200 S. 16th St., Milwaukee

• 13820 W. Greenfield Ave., Brookfield

• 5637 Broad St., Greendale

If you're looking to drop by one of the stores, a limited supply will be available for at least the next couple of weeks, according to Brooks. But if the couple and cookies continue trending, the bakery may continue cranking out the cookies, she added.

Brooks recommends placing an order for the cookies ahead of time to make sure they're available. She noted that the cookies can be ordered even after they're no longer readily available.

The bakeries are open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
