Moreover, the Saxons are invading Britain and a young child king sits on the throne unprotected. The entire story of the series is narrated by a Saxon monk named Defrel Cadarn for a young queen named Igraine, many years after Arthur’s death.
The cast of The Winter King Season 1 includes Iain De Caestecker as King Arthur Pendragon, Stuart Campbell as Derfel Cadarn, Ellie James as Nimue, Steven Elder as Bishop Bedwin, Valerie Kane as Morgan, Simon Merrells as Gundleus, Ken Nwosu as Sagramor, Olumide Olrunfemi as Lunete, and Billy Postlethwaite as Cadwys, among other cast members. The Winter King is created by Kate Brooke, Ed Whitmore, and Bernard Cornwell.
