The Charlotte Hornets finally have their new, and old, head coach in Steve Clifford, but will he get the chance to coach last season’s leading scorer?

Miles Bridges is set to his restricted free agency after a career-year, averaging 20.2 points, seven rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. The former Michigan State Spartan should have several suitors if the Hornets don’t plan on offering him a max contract.

On Monday’s episode of “NBA Today”, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst stated that at the moment, Bridges ‘is not being offered a max contract’ by the Hornets, opening up the door for him to go get a max offer elsewhere.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania previously reported that the Hornets were ‘hesitant’ to offer Bridges a max extension.

Now, if Bridges accepts a max contract offer from another team, the Hornets will have 48 hours to match the offer or facilitate a sign-and-trade.
