Sofra Modern Mediterranean, a fast-casual restaurant at 5709 Oleander Ave. in Wilmington will be closing May 28, 2022.

Sofra Modern Mediterranean at 5709 Oleander Drive will be closing on Saturday, May 28. Owner Bahaa Ibrahim said that he received an offer for the purchase of the restaurant that was too good to pass up.

"It's been a good two years, but with everything going on, with prices and labor and it seemed like a good time," he said.

The restaurant opened in 2020 and it's fast casual concept allowed people to pick dishes like falafel, shawarmas and kabobs, even during the pandemic. Many people were also fans of the restaurant's seasonal daily specials.

He added that he might return to the restaurant business again, but not right away.

"I think I will take a nap first," he said.
