Will Richard Gere become a father again at 69?
Richard Gere will turn 69 later this month, but — if you believe the rumor mill — he has even bigger things to celebrate.
According to reports in the Spanish daily newspaper ABC — and now spreading its way through the tabloids — the Pretty Woman star and his bride of mere months, Alejandra Silva Gere, a 35-year-old publicist and activist from Spain, are expecting their first child together.
The news originates from Spanish TV host Lydia Lozano, a panelist on the gossip show Sálvame Deluxe, who first reported on July 25 that Alejandra was pregnant and Gere would be a father again within six months. ABC then reported the news and claimed it’s “confirmed.”
That’s where things get a little murky because we reached out to Gere’s publicist, who said he has “no knowledge at this time” of and “therefore no comment.”
And this is one of Alejandra’s latest Instagram posts — though it could be a throwback.

But it’s also worth noting that Gere didn’t confirm their nuptials either.
If they are in fact having a child, this will bring their party to five. The actor is already a father to an 18-year-old son, Homer, with his second wife, Carey Lowell. (He became a first-time father at 50.) Meanwhile, Alejandra has a 5-year-old son, Albert, with her ex-husband.
After the pair tied the knot in April, which was followed by a celebration for family and friends at his Westchester County, N.Y., estate on Cinco de Mayo, a Gere insider told People magazine that the acting legend, who was also married to Cindy Crawford, “has been much happier in this half of his life because he is settled, confident, and doing what he likes.”

The couple first met almost 20 years ago when Silva was a teenager and Gere borrowed a boat from her father to shoot a TV ad. (Her dad is a businessman and the former vice president of the Real Madrid Football Club. However, they didn’t couple up until 2014.
