'Will & Grace' creators have the perfect way to cope with getting snubbed at the Golden Globes
Heading into tonight’s Golden Globes ceremony, Will & Grace was batting 0-27 in terms of STHs (Statues Taken Home). By the time Hollywood’s biggest party was over, that statistic was up to 0-29. Despite picking up two nominations for its highly-rated revival season — one for Best Television Series Musical or Comedy and a Best Actor nod for star Eric McCormack — the comedy series just couldn’t break its longtime winning curse, losing out to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Master of None‘s Aziz Ansari respectively.
You’ll be happy to know that Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as series director, James Burrows, have a way of coping with their repeated losses. “We play this terrific drinking game every time we’re here,” Mutchnick revealed to Yahoo Entertainment earlier in the evening. “Every time we lose a category, we toss [a drink] back. So as Dave says, we leave happy no matter what!” Globe or no Globe, Mutchnick makes it clear that they couldn’t be happier to have gotten the Will & Grace band back together without missing a beat. “The only thing that got a facelift was the set, and that’s a good thing. We feel like everybody was ready to do this and it just all came together.”
