Wild Rose Moon goes on location to tape 'Radio Hour' at Merrimans’ Playhouse in South Bend

SOUTH BEND — Wild Rose Moon, WVPE-FM (88.1) and Merrimans’ Playhouse have teamed up for a special recording of the “Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Merrimans’ Playhouse, 401 E. Colfax Ave., Suite 135.

“Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour” is a theatrical radio show that airs at 7 p.m. the first Monday of the month on WVPE.

Produced like an old-fashioned variety show, the show features a sing-along theme song, interviews, performances by guest artists, the “Shoot the Moon,” game show and lots of audience participation.

The show features Derek Jensen as the announcer and Wild Rose director George Schricker as the host.

The program at Merrimans’ Playhouse will feature The Merrimans’ Play-House Players as musical guests: Stephen Merriman on drums, Mary Merriman on upright bass, Stefan Hess on piano, Todd Neuenschwander on tenor saxophone and Maximilian Wilfinger on trumpet.

Other scheduled guests include Tony Krabil, Willow Wetherall and Patti Shaffner.

This will be the first time it has been recorded away from Wild Rose Moon, a performing arts venue in downtown Plymouth.
