Wilco Share New Song “Everyone Hides”: Listen

Wilco have shared a new single from their forthcoming album Ode to Joy, which is out October 4 via dBpm Records. The video for “Everyone Hides” takes the song’s title literally as the band’s members flee to iconic locations around Chicago. They head to Wrigley Field, the Music Box Theatre, Laurie’s Planet of Sound, and Marina City (aka the towers from the cover of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot). Watch the clip below.

“‘Everyone Hides’ is the first promotional video to feature Wilco as a living breathing band of humans in close to 20 years,” Jeff Tweedy said in a statement. “Maybe for obvious reasons we’ve avoided putting ourselves forward in this way and have tried to play to our strengths musically or, I don’t know, maybe we’ve just been lazy.... Or suspicious of expenditures outside of our focus on album making. For whatever reason this time around we just said fuck it and had a blast.”

Wilco have also announced a string of concerts in Chicago and St. Paul later this year. Find their tour dates here and find tickets here. (Pitchfork may earn a commission from purchases made through affiliate links on our site.)
